TommaTech S 60A 12/24/48V MPPT Charge Controller

The TommaTech S 60A 12/24/48V MPPT Charge Controller is designed as the charging centre of a medium-capacity standalone solar-energy system. Intelligent maximum power point tracking allows the connected PV array to operate around its optimum power point, while the built-in DSP controller manages charging for the selected battery architecture.

The controller supports 12 V, 24 V and 48 V nominal battery systems with automatic battery-voltage detection. Its published maximum PV-array power is 800 W at 12 V, 1600 W at 24 V and 3200 W at 48 V, following the corresponding order in the official table. A 60-115 V MPPT operating range and 145 V maximum PV-array open-circuit voltage support higher-voltage PV string design than the selected PWM model.

Three-stage Bulk, Absorption and Floating charging supports sealed lead-acid, AGM and gel batteries. A battery temperature sensor provides temperature compensation, while the multifunction LCD displays solar power, load level, battery voltage and capacity, charging current and fault conditions. The unit also provides solar, charging and load-status LEDs.

With up to 60 A charging current, maximum efficiency of 98% and protection functions for overload, overcharge and reverse polarity, SCC-MPPT 3KW is suitable for professionally designed off-grid and remote-power systems where solar-energy harvesting and clear operating information are priorities.

Selection Guidance

  • Use the 800 W PV limit with a 12 V battery system, 1600 W with 24 V and 3200 W with 48 V.
  • Design the operating PV string to remain within the 60-115 V MPPT range.
  • Confirm that the maximum cold-condition PV open-circuit voltage remains below 145 V.
  • Keep the required charging current within the 60 A maximum and the input-section current within the published 50 A value.
  • Use only a supported battery type and confirm its required charging voltages before commissioning.
  • For higher system power, 48 V operation reduces DC current for a given power level and enables the full published 3200 W PV-array capacity.
  • IP31 is not an outdoor weatherproof rating; install the controller in a clean, dry and suitably protected location with the required clearances.

  • Confirm the selected lead-acid battery's charging profile and temperature-sensor placement before commissioning.
