TommaTech 51.2V 100Ah PB Series Lithium Battery

The TommaTech PB Series 51.2V 100Ah is a dedicated low-voltage LiFePO4 battery platform designed around a compact 5.12kWh energy-storage module.

Unlike the earlier G2 platform, the PB Series combines a different BMS architecture, higher continuous discharge capability, expanded parallel scalability and flexible wall-mounted or stack-mounted installation.

The battery operates at a nominal voltage of 51.2V with a 100Ah capacity and an operating-voltage range of 44.8–57.6V.

The manufacturer specifies a maximum continuous charging current of 50A with a 75A 10-second peak. Maximum continuous discharge current is 120A with a 150A 10-second peak.

Up to 32 identical batteries may be connected in parallel.

Communication capabilities include CAN2.0, RS485, Bluetooth and APP connectivity. The official datasheet specifies IP21 enclosure protection, natural cooling, LED/buzzer indication and installation at altitudes up to 3,000m.

Because of its different BMS, current capability, communication architecture, installation concept and scalability, the PB Series should remain completely separate from the 51.2V 102Ah G2 Modular battery.

Technical Architecture

The PB Series integrates the battery cells and BMS within a compact battery pack.

Dedicated communication terminals support communication with the inverter as well as communication between multiple parallel batteries.

The architecture supports automatic networking and local or ESS-level monitoring functions.

 

How It Works

A compatible low-voltage inverter manages battery charging and discharging.

The internal BMS supervises voltage, current, temperature and protection functions.

Where multiple PB batteries are connected, communication and power are coordinated across the parallel battery bank.

Compatibility

Exact inverter compatibility must be confirmed.

The presence of CAN2.0 or RS485 on an inverter does not automatically guarantee compatible BMS communication.

 

Important Technical Notes

Cycle Life

The official datasheet currently prints:

≤6,000 cycles

under the stated test conditions:

  • 25°C ±2°C
  • 0.2C charge
  • 0.2C discharge
  • 80% DoD
  • 70% EOL

Because the “≤” notation is unusual for a cycle-life specification, do not convert this into “6,000+ cycles”.

Manufacturer confirmation recommended before contractual use.

IP Rating

Unlike the ambiguous G2/V “IP20–IP65” wording, the PB Series datasheet explicitly specifies:

IP21 enclosure rating.
