Solar Irrigation: Match Your Pump, Inverter and Panels
Put daylight to work on your farm. Explore solar pumping options, real package examples and panel choices matched to your pump and water needs.

Put sunshine to work on your farm. A matched solar irrigation package can help pump water during daylight and reduce dependence on purchased electricity or diesel generation. We bring the panels, dedicated pump inverter and supporting equipment together around your water needs.
Follow one real catalogue example
TommaTech’s 2026 irrigation catalogue lists a package for a 2.2 kW single-phase / 230 V pump with a 2.2 kW single-phase pump inverter and eight 605 W panels. Those panels total 4.84 kWp of rated array capacity.
The package also lists supporting equipment such as the ready-to-use irrigation box, cables, connectors and ground mounting. A complete quotation should define these items as well as the inverter and panels.
The same pump kW can still need a different package
| Selected 2026 catalogue example | Listed drive | 605 W panel count | Rated array |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.2 kW · single-phase / 230 V | 2.2 kW single-phase | 8 | 4.84 kWp |
| 2.2 kW · three-phase / 400 V | 2.2 kW three-phase | 14 | 8.47 kWp |
| 5.5 kW · three-phase / 400 V | 7.5 kW irrigation inverter | 17 | 10.285 kWp |
| 7.5 kW · three-phase / 400 V | 11 kW irrigation inverter | 28 | 16.94 kWp |
The first two examples explain why we ask for the nameplate: motor phase and drive requirements can change panel quantity even at the same pump kW. These are selected catalogue examples; the final package is checked against the actual motor, location and water duty.
A dedicated irrigation range
TommaTech irrigation drives cover smaller pumps through larger agricultural applications. Published groups include 2.2–15 kW plastic-enclosure units, 18.5–132 kW metal-enclosure units and 160–250 kW cabinet models. A household inverter is not a substitute for selecting the appropriate pump drive.
Do you need a battery?
A suitable daylight pumping design may run without electrical battery storage. Where the water system permits it, pumping to a tank during sunshine can store water for later use. Grid or generator assistance requires the appropriate functions and protection in the agreed design.
Where does AgriFlow fit?
AgriFlow 645 Wp, available through A2Z, is a separate irrigation-focused panel option with a higher working-voltage approach. We assess it around the selected drive and pump; it cannot simply replace the 605 W panels in the examples without checking the arrangement again. One panel is not a promise to run any agricultural pump.
Send these four details
- Pump label: power, voltage and phase.
- Water target: daily quantity and tank or direct-irrigation use.
- Water route: approximate lift, delivery height and pipe distance.
- Location: country, irrigation season and available power sources.
