We Successfully Completed a 40 HC Container Shipment of SN8 Corrugated Pipes from Türkiye to Uruguay
A2ZEXIMCO has successfully completed another international infrastructure shipment from Türkiye to Uruguay.
The order consisted of SN8 HDPE corrugated pipes in diameters ranging from 100 mm to 1,000 mm, prepared for use in various infrastructure and drainage projects by our customer in Uruguay. Following production and inspection, the pipes were efficiently loaded into a 40-foot high-cube container and dispatched to their final destination.
This export operation involved much more than simply supplying products. A2ZEXIMCO managed the entire process through one accountable point of coordination, including evaluation of the project requirements, product selection, production follow-up, inspection, container-loading planning and export-document coordination.
100 Pipes and a Total of 600 Metres in One Container
The shipment included a total of 100 SN8 corrugated pipes, each measuring 6 metres in length.
| Pipe diameter | Quantity | Unit length | Total length |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 20 | 6 metres | 120 metres |
| 200 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 20 | 6 metres | 120 metres |
| 300 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 20 | 6 metres | 120 metres |
| 400 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 8 | 6 metres | 48 metres |
| 500 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 8 | 6 metres | 48 metres |
| 600 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 8 | 6 metres | 48 metres |
| 800 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 8 | 6 metres | 48 metres |
| 1,000 mm SN8 corrugated pipe | 8 | 6 metres | 48 metres |
| Total | 100 pipes | 600 metres |
To maximise the available container volume, pipes with compatible diameters were placed inside one another using a telescopic loading method.
This loading arrangement reduced unused space inside the container and enabled the available transport capacity to be utilised more efficiently. It also helped protect the products during transportation while contributing to lower logistics costs per unit.
This Shipment Was SN8, but Our Production Capability Is Not Limited to SN4 and SN8
Although SN8 pipes were selected for this particular shipment to Uruguay, our product range is not limited to SN4 or SN8 classes.
Depending on pipe diameter, burial depth, ground conditions, traffic loads and application requirements, we can provide different ring-stiffness options ranging from SN4 to SN16. Subject to the selected pipe system and diameter, SN4, SN8, SN10, SN12/SN12.5 and SN16 solutions can be evaluated.
Our standard corrugated pipe range extends from DN100 to DN1,000, while steel-reinforced spiral corrugated pipes can be produced in nominal diameters from 800 mm to 2,400 mm. In addition to standard dimensions, custom diameters can be manufactured according to project requirements and production feasibility.
Our production partner’s reference portfolio also includes large-scale corrugated pipe applications reaching a diameter of 3,000 mm.
This flexible production capability enables us to develop project-specific solutions ranging from small field-drainage lines to metropolitan-scale sewer and stormwater collectors.
Project-Specific Products and System Options
A2ZEXIMCO does not only supply standard corrugated pipes. We can also provide different pipe systems according to the intended application and technical specifications of each project.
Standard HDPE Corrugated Pipes
Double-wall HDPE corrugated pipes manufactured in accordance with TS EN 13476-3 can be used in sewerage, stormwater, drainage and non-pressure underground infrastructure systems.
The standard production range includes DN100, DN150, DN200, DN300, DN400, DN500, DN600, DN700, DN800, DN900 and DN1,000. Pipes are generally supplied in 6-metre lengths with integrated socket connections.
Steel-Reinforced Spiral Corrugated Pipes
Steel-reinforced spiral corrugated pipes are available for large-diameter projects requiring higher structural performance. Standard nominal diameters range from 800 mm to 2,400 mm, while custom diameters may also be evaluated according to project requirements.
These pipes have a three-layer structure:
- An inner HDPE layer,
- A U-shaped steel reinforcement in the middle,
- A protective outer HDPE layer.
The steel reinforcement increases mechanical strength, while the inner and outer HDPE layers help protect the system against corrosion and chemical exposure. The pipes can be connected using electrofusion tape welding, including for large-diameter applications.
Perforated and Slotted Drainage Pipes
Corrugated pipes can be manufactured with different perforation or slotting patterns according to customer requirements for use in agricultural land, roadside, foundation and underground drainage projects.
These products can be manufactured in accordance with TS EN 13476-3 and DIN 4262-1 R2 requirements, with ring-stiffness classes ranging from SN4 to SN16.
Geotextile-Wrapped Drainage Pipes
Geotextile-wrapped drainage pipes create a filtration layer around the pipe, helping reduce the movement of fine soil particles into the drainage line and lowering the risk of system blockage.
Typical applications include:
- Removal of excess water from agricultural fields,
- Protection of building foundations exposed to groundwater,
- Base drainage at construction sites,
- Drainage of sports fields and landscaped areas,
- Reclamation of muddy and clay-rich land,
- Roadside drainage,
- Mine dewatering.
Cable Protection Pipes
Double-wall cable protection pipes manufactured in accordance with TS EN 61386-1 can be supplied for electrical, telecommunications, data-transmission, railway-signalling, traffic-light and underground energy networks.
Fittings and Complete System Solutions
In addition to pipes, we can supply compatible sockets, couplers, elbows, equal and unequal tees, reducers, adapters, outlet connections, inspection chambers, end caps and concrete-transition fittings.
Project-specific fittings can be coordinated for different diameters, slopes and connection requirements, allowing us to offer customers a complete, installation-ready system rather than only individual pipes.
Key Advantages of HDPE Corrugated Pipes
HDPE corrugated pipes combine technical performance with efficient transportation and installation.
Resistance to Soil and Traffic Loads
The corrugated outer surface and specially engineered profile contribute to the pipe’s performance against soil and traffic loads when supported by correct engineering, bedding, backfilling and compaction practices.
Efficient Hydraulic Performance
The smooth inner surface helps reduce flow resistance and the risk of sediment accumulation. This supports efficient flow in stormwater, drainage and non-pressure wastewater systems.
Resistance to Corrosion and Chemicals
HDPE does not corrode and offers strong resistance to a wide range of chemicals. The chemical characteristics, temperature and operating conditions of the fluid being transported must nevertheless be evaluated separately for each project.
Lightweight and Easy to Install
Compared with many conventional heavy pipe systems, the lightweight structure of HDPE corrugated pipes simplifies transportation, on-site handling, cutting, positioning and installation.
Different Connection Options
Depending on project requirements, the following joining methods can be used:
- Integral socket and gasket connection,
- Coupler and gasket connection,
- Electrofusion tape welding for steel-reinforced spiral pipes.
Wide Operating Temperature Range
According to the technical catalogue, the pipes can withstand temperatures between -50°C and +60°C under suitable application conditions.
Efficient Transportation
The ability to place smaller pipes inside larger diameters allows container and truck capacity to be used more efficiently. This advantage enabled us to load a total of 600 metres of pipe into a single 40 HC container for the Uruguay shipment.
Where Can Corrugated Pipes Be Used?
Our wide range of diameters, ring-stiffness classes and configurations enables the pipes to be used across many sectors and project types.
- Municipal sewerage and domestic wastewater networks,
- Stormwater and snowmelt collection systems,
- Groundwater and surface-water drainage,
- Road, motorway and under-road crossings,
- Airport and stadium infrastructure,
- Agricultural drainage and irrigation projects,
- Non-pressure infrastructure at industrial facilities,
- Wastewater treatment plants,
- Large-diameter collector lines,
- Culverts and water crossings,
- Energy and communication cable-protection systems,
- Urban-renewal and new-city infrastructure projects.
The final pipe diameter, SN class, product type and joining method should be determined according to the project’s ground conditions, burial depth, traffic loads, hydraulic calculations and technical specifications.
